SOLONPORT User Interface Innovations
A detailed look at configurable page layouts, filters, columns, sorting, grouping and navigation improvements in SOLONPORT.Introduction
A new SOLONPORT release introduced extensive user-interface improvements and new configuration capabilities. Users can personalise operational screens without writing code, and their choices can be stored on a user basis so that the application returns with the selected working arrangement.
01 — Detail pages
Customisation and advanced flexibility in page layouts
Users can change and customise detail-page views according to their working needs. These changes are user-specific and remain in place until they are changed again. A user can also return to the original page view by resetting their customisation.
The available layout controls allow users to rearrange field positions and sizes, remove or add groupings, hide fields that are not needed, add fields that are currently outside the view, and change field or header descriptions. Tabs can be used to organise dense forms into clearer working areas.
02 — Filters
Shape list data without writing code
List pages include standard filters, while the filter editor allows users to create additional filtering logic visually. This supports different operational questions without requiring a software change for each view.
A range of filtering operations can be applied to list pages so that users can narrow complex operational records to the information needed for the task at hand.
03 — Columns
User-specific column management
List-style pages provide column customisation that is retained for the individual user. Column widths can be changed, positions can be rearranged, unwanted columns can be removed from view and currently hidden columns can be added.
The same working view can also use multi-column filtering and advanced sorting across more than one column.
04 — Sorting and grouping
Turn long lists into structured operational views
Columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order, and advanced sorting can be applied across multiple columns. These changes can be made directly with the mouse and retained when the user returns to the page.
List data can also be grouped by dragging one or more columns into the grouping area. This enables users to organise records around the operational categories and subtotals relevant to their work.
05 — Navigation
Keyboard and record-navigation improvements
Refresh, save and close controls on detail pages were moved to the right to better support devices with different screen sizes.
Previous and next record controls were added so users can move directly between records without first leaving the detail page.
